The headline price is the least useful number here
A $179 entry that steps to $299 costs more over six months than a flat $199. A membership model adds a
fixed fee before medication. A dose-escalation fee means your bill climbs as you titrate. Read the
pricing model column, not the entry column.Worked example: 6 months of semaglutide
| Model | 6-month total | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Flat $199/mo | $1,194 | TrimRx |
| 12-month prepay (~$197/mo) | $1,182 (of a $2,364 commitment) | Henry Meds |
| $179 then $299/mo | $1,674 | MEDVi |
| Flat $299/mo | $1,794 | Willow |
| Month-to-month $297/mo | $1,782 | Henry Meds (no prepay) |
Same active ingredient in every row. The spread is pricing structure, not medicine. Add dose-escalation fees where applicable.
Don't forget the costs that aren't on the pricing page
- Bloodwork — $95–$500 depending on panel. Hone and Marek require it (and bundle it, respectively); most others don't require it, which doesn't mean you shouldn't do it.
- Dose escalation — Henry Meds adds ~$100/mo per tier. Flat providers don't.
- Cancellation — prepaid multi-month plans are frequently non-refundable.
FAQ
Which provider is cheapest overall?
For a single trial month, MEDVi ($179 first month). For predictable long-run GLP-1 cost, TrimRx's flat $199 usually totals less. Henry Meds' 12-month prepay (~$197/mo) is competitive but non-refundable. Cheapest headline and cheapest total are rarely the same provider.
What's the difference between the pricing models?
Flat means one price regardless of dose. Step-up means a cheap first month then a higher refill. Dose-escalation means the price rises as you titrate. Membership + medication means two separate charges. Only flat pricing lets you predict your 6-month total from the headline number.
Do any of these accept insurance?
None of them bill insurance for compounded medication — it's cash-pay across the board. HSA/FSA funds are generally accepted, which effectively discounts by your marginal tax rate. Medicare's GLP-1 Bridge covers brand drugs at $50/mo for eligible enrollees, not compounded.
